Cost Accounting

This is the part I am going to start with and not the finance part as I had earlier decided. I just had a cost accounting course last semester, so might be able to finish it off fast, also it covers more percentage in the exam than the finance part. As you all know I will be following Gleim, (book, online, and the software) . The cost accounting part in Gleim is divided into 5 subunits:
  • Planning and Budgeting
  • Business Performance
  • Cost Behavior and Definitions
  • Product Costing and Related Topics
  • Standard Costs and Variance Analysis.
I started with the planning and budgeting subunit. In terms of knowledge, there isn't anything that would required a tremendous amount of learning (with my background). The text book does a good job in explaining. However, there is quite a bit of remembering required. That's the sad part :( . I don't think I will spend a lot of time studying the forecast analysis techniques, other than just know what each are.
I just finished studying and will be taking the T/F and Quizzes shortly and will update how it went.

A Very Happy New Year !!!

A Very Happy New Year to all of you fellow CPA candidates. I have been tied up with some personal issues and also was off with the family for a mini vacation. Now that I am back and plan to finish off the whole CPA thing by the end of this year, I am putting in as many CPA study hours as I can. Avg. 5-6 hrs a day.
